Geography & Climate

Thailand is divided into four distinct regions:
  • The mountainous North – home to scenic highlands and ancient temples
  • The fertile Central Plains – often called the "Rice Bowl of Asia"
  • The semi-arid Northeast (Isan) – a region of deep cultural traditions
  • The tropical South – famous for its stunning beaches and offshore islands

The country experiences a tropical climate with three main seasons:

Cool Season (Nov–Feb): Pleasant temperatures, ideal for travel

Hot Season (Apr–May): High temperatures, often exceeding 35°C

Rainy Season (Jun–Oct): Short, heavy downpours with sunny intervals

Thailand boasts Southeast Asia’s second-largest free-market economy, with a nominal GDP of nearly USD 500 billion. Its economy thrives on:
  • Exports (70% of GDP): A key driver of economic growth
  • Manufacturing (40% of GDP): Strong in automotive, electronics, and medical devices
  • Services (50% of GDP): Rapidly growing sectors in finance, tourism, and healthcare

As a major ASEAN member, Thailand provides seamless access to a market of over 660 million people, positioning itself as a regional hub for trade, production, and investment.
